Class Assignments

Welcome to Web Design 1 at Lakeland High School. This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the Internet, Intranet, and WWW.  The content includes operating systems; basic HTML commands; navigation of the Internet, Intranet, and Web; and Web page design.  In this class you will learn the basic skills to create and manage web sites through hard coding while using a platform such as Dreamweaver. You will gain skills in pre production planning and learn how to create an entire web site from beginning to end. The majority of your time in this class will be spent creating sites while learning how to use Dreamweaver and implement web based elements. We will touch briefly on how to use Fireworks, which is a photoshop type application geared towards web based image publication. Your assignments will consist of small single page publications as well as very large and detailed web sites. As mentioned before the applications that we will be using is Dreamweaver and Fireworks. We have the latest versions of these programs loaded to the class computers in Adobe Creative Suite 3. After successful completion of Web Design 1 and 2, students will have met Occupational Completion Point - Data Code B,  Assistant Web Designer – SOC Code 15-1031.
