Welcome Dreadnaught fans! Are you ready for another century of exciting Lakeland Football?
What a tremendous year for Lakeland Dreadnaught Football as we celebrated our 100th year of Florida High School football - one of only a handful of schools that could make that claim last year. In 2007 we saw our young and inexperienced team finish the year at 10-2 as a State Regional Semi-finalist, loosing only twice to one of the State Finalist, Kissimmee Osceola. We celebrated with our great Coach Castle on his 300th win against South Dade on September 7th. Our tenacious team helped to set the FHSAA State Record for consecutive wins at 53 against Ridge Community on October 26th, building on the great accomplishments of the past 4 teams in setting this record. Last but certainly not least, Coach Castle was named the FHSAA's Coach of the Century during halftime of the Class 5A State Championship game December 14th. Congratulations to Coach Castle and our fine young players!
To best show your support for our young athletes and coaches, I urge you to join our booster club today. Your booster club membership donations fund many important activities including players’ Wednesday night study halls, weight room improvements, annual banquet, championship rings, and coaches' supplements. We have several levels of club membership, so anyone who truly loves Lakeland Football can participate.
I would like to thank all boosters, fans, businesses, organizations and vendors who have contributed time, money or services in making the Lakeland Dreadnaught Football experience what it is… “Nulli Secundus”… Second to None!
I look forward to seeing you at our booster club meeting on Monday nights at 7:30pm at Lakeland High School.
